Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Levels 1 and 2 are ADVANCED level classes and will guide you through the steps you'll need to take to go from just sending rounds downrange to actually training in specific, tested methods of armed self-defense. From stance to grip to physical shooting technique, Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Levels 1 and 2 will help you hone the edge on your inner warrior expert. You'll get your body working with your gun instead of against it, you'll learn which intuitive skills work best with what your body will naturally do while under stress in a critical situation, and you'll learn to apply this information simply and effectively.
Class fee is $100.00/person
Class Duration: 8 hours
Upcoming Class Dates
DSF- Saturday, March 13th, 2021 - 8am-5pm
More dates to be scheduled soon!!
Here is what you will need to bring for this class:
Handgun – I would recommend bringing what you carry. If you have a choice, we recommend a striker-fired semi-automatic. We recommend against revolvers and any kind of specialty and/or low capacity weapons
3 magazines for the gun you bring and belt-secured magazine holder
400-500 rounds of target ammo in the appropriate caliber for your gun (we will shoot 400+ rounds)
A holster (concealed or open, your call, but once again, we recommend you bring your carry rig)
Range bag with eye and ear protection
Appropriate range gear (comfortable, weather appropriate, long pants and long-sleeved shirt, closed toed shoes and a hat)
After registration, you will receive via regular mail, a DSF 1 book; and via email, the links from the USCCA to the e-learning modules. I recommend you read the book first then do the e-learning. The e-learning is a mandatory prerequisite that will take you 6-8 hours to complete (you can do it at your own pace and save/restart at any time) and will require you to pass an on-line exam before attending the class. The E-learning is important and very useful to anyone interested in defensive shooting. It will guide you through a lot of the “whys” behind the DSF science, philosophy, methodology and practice.
