  • Dripping Springs Defense Training is a specialized provider of Personal Defense Training and Classes to obtain your Texas License to Carry (LTC). Our goal is to provide you with excellant instruction and a comprehensive training program.
  • This class covers all the modules required by Texas DPS and adds additional topics relative to the program.
  • Our LTC course is designed for those people that have a modest level of proficiency with a handgun.
  • The LTC course will teach you the laws, but does not teach the practical gun skills essential to any self defense situation. Our Handgun & Shooting Fundamentals classes teach those skills. Here's what we provide during our in-person LTC class
  • 4-6 hours classroom education including a handbook
  • Coffee and breakfast snacks
  • Working lunch (lunch and drinks provided)
  • Safe and Supervised range qualification on a private range
  • Instructions on how to apply with DPS and fingerprinting
  • A fun, safe and instructional day! Shooting Qualification Requirements You will need to bring 50 rounds of target ammo for your firearm for this class.
  • You need to be proficient with a handgun to pass this part of the course. If you can independantly load and prepare your pistol to fire, clear a jam or malfunction, and operate your hangun safely in a range setting you are good to go. DPS does not allow us to offer instruction during the shooting qualification. If you are not proficient, we highly recommend that you take our Handgun and Shooting Fundamentals classes before taking the LTC course. Private class dates by appoinment only
Online Students If you take the online course and now need to take the Range Instruction & Shooting Qualification we can help. Fill out the registration page with your info and we will get you scheduled. We usually add you to our regular LTC class date for these requirements but we can also see about doing your range qualification on a different date. You will need to bring your LTC-101 or LTC-104 form with you so we can complete it. Please contact us if you have any questions. Fee is $50 each.
